With 48 teams, 104 matches, and an estimated 3.5 billion global viewers, the tournament represents a significant economic opportunity for British Columbia. Vancouver will host seven matches, welcoming approximately 350,000 attendees and more than 200,000 visitors across the region, with average visitor spending projected at approximately $550 per day.
The Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade is actively engaged in regional planning efforts. Chief Operating Officer Indra Bhan is leading this work on behalf of the organization and is the only Surrey and White Rock business representative on the FIFA World Cup 2026 Economic Development Coordination Group with the Government of British Columbia, and also sits on the bi-weekly FIFA 2026 Vancouver–Seattle Roundtable on Borders and Tourism.
