The Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade welcomes the news that the BC General Employees’ Union and the Government of British Columbia have agreed to enter mediation in an effort to resolve the ongoing strike.
This job action has already created significant challenges for businesses across Surrey and White Rock – from delays in permitting, licensing, and inspections to disruptions in the supply of regulated goods that impact restaurants, retailers, and hospitality operators. Each day the strike continues adds uncertainty, stalls projects, and places additional strain on employers who depend on consistent and efficient government services.
