With British Columbians heading to the polls on October 24, Surrey and White Rock voters will have an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking to represent Surrey and White Rock in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia across all 10 ridings.
The Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade, Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce, and the White Rock Business Improvement Association are coming together to host a non-partisan provincial candidates forum ahead of the October 24 provincial election.
The forum will provide candidates with an opportunity to outline their priorities and respond to questions on issues affecting businesses, workers, families and communities across Surrey and White Rock.
Businesses and residents want to understand the priorities of the candidates seeking to represent our communities at the provincial level. This forum will provide an important opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates and better understand their positions on the issues that matter to our region.
Joslyn Young, CEO, Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade
The discussion will focus on key issues facing the local economy and business community, including economic growth and competitiveness, housing, transportation and infrastructure, public safety, healthcare, workforce and skills development, and the cost of doing business.
The business community has an important role to play in encouraging informed civic engagement. Bringing candidates together in one forum allows voters to hear directly from those seeking to represent them and consider the issues from a local perspective.
Scott Wheatley, Executive Director, Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce
