The Surrey Board of Trade and PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs will be making an exciting announcement at a film screening and business pitch contest of youth entrepreneurs.

“The Surrey Board of Trade Youth Entrepreneurship Program mentor Surrey’s next generation of business leaders going all the way to Grade 6,” said Anita Huberman, CEO, Surrey Board of Trade.

Following the film screening, students will pitch their business to the audience for a chance to win money for their charity of choice!

ABOUT THE FILM:

In 2017, a grade 6/7 class in Surrey, British Columbia participated in the 6-week PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs program. The students were challenged to create their own businesses and were responsible for making their own decisions. The film Mindset Matters documents their journey as their class moves through the program. Placing special focus on four students, Josh, Emma, Abel and Muhamet, each of whom have unique social and educational needs, Mindset Matters highlights the depth of personal and academic growth students experience with this exciting real-world project.
