Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness Naomi Yamamoto to Speak in Surrey – October 21

Dialogue with the Honourable Naomi Yamamoto, Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness at the Surrey Board of Trade’s Leadership Surrey Dialogue event, “Disaster Recovery Planning for Business.”

We have all heard how we need to prepare for the “big one,” the importance of a grab-n-go kit, out of area contacts and more. But do you know how to get your business up and running again after a disaster? Will you be ready to open doors, pay employees, and service customers? Will you be able to access your data and stop-gap funding?

The Surrey Board of Trade has convened a panel of experts in risk management, insurance coverage, safety and government regulations – areas that are often overlooked in emergency preparations. Minister Yamamoto will brief members on what the B.C. government is doing to ensure that Surrey and B.C. is disaster-ready She will also an overview on government programs that offer post-disaster support.
