February 2027 mission will connect local businesses with one of the world’s fastest-growing economies
The Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade (SWRBOT) is pleased to announce its India Trade Mission, taking place February 8–22, 2027, as part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to helping businesses diversify markets, strengthen international relationships, and explore new opportunities for growth.
The mission, organized through SWRBOT’s Trade Hub, will bring business leaders from Surrey, White Rock, and across the region to India for a program of business engagement, networking, market exploration, and cultural immersion. Participants will visit Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, gaining firsthand exposure to one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly growing economies.
The announcement comes at a time when Canada is increasingly focused on strengthening trade relationships beyond traditional markets. India is now one of the world’s largest economies and is expected to play an increasingly important role in global trade, investment, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, and clean energy development.
For businesses in British Columbia, opportunities continue to grow across a range of sectors, including advanced manufacturing, technology, logistics, infrastructure, professional services, and international trade support services.
“Trade diversification is one of the most important conversations taking place in boardrooms across Canada today,” said Joslyn Young, Chief Executive Officer of the Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade. “Businesses are looking for opportunities to reduce risk, expand into new markets, and build stronger international relationships. India represents one of the most significant economic opportunities of our generation, and this mission is designed to help our members make meaningful connections, gain market intelligence, and position themselves for future growth.”
The mission will include opportunities to engage with business leaders, industry representatives, business associations, chambers of commerce, and government stakeholders. Through SWRBOT’s relationships in India, participants will gain access to valuable networking opportunities and insights into the country’s evolving business landscape.
“Surrey and White Rock are uniquely positioned to strengthen economic ties with India,” added Young. “Our region’s diversity, entrepreneurial spirit, manufacturing base, and strategic transportation connections make us a natural gateway for international business. As Canada and India continue to deepen their economic relationship, we want local businesses to be part of that story.”
In addition to business programming, participants will experience some of India’s most iconic destinations and cultural landmarks, including the Taj Mahal, Old Delhi, Mumbai’s commercial centre, Hyderabad’s innovation ecosystem, and Bengaluru’s renowned technology sector.
The India Trade Mission is part of SWRBOT’s broader Trade Hub strategy, which provides businesses with practical resources, education, connections, and support to help them navigate domestic and international trade opportunities. The Trade Hub reflects SWRBOT’s commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of local businesses and helping them succeed in an increasingly global economy.
